This 'n' That

Happy day-after-Thanksgiving to all of my US readers. If you're like me, today you feel a a pound or two heavier, but every calorie was worth it. Another slice of pumpkin pie? Yes, please.

And because I do not say it often enough, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of my readers for your loyalty, your encouragement, your prayers, and your challenges. The past year has been a trying and hectic one here at the DNBS blogging bunker, and I regret that the blog has had to suffer as a result. Thanks for still coming back, even when This 'n' That was the only post published all week. You all are a blessing.

Okay, okay. Before things get too mushy and gushy around here, I need to run. It is Black Friday, after all, and I want to get over to Family "Christian" Store before all the half-price copies of Jesus Calling are sold out. I'm thinking of having a bonfire this weekend…

Before you hit the sales, why don't you cut yourself a slice of pie (I don't care if it's only midday, there's never a bad time for pie), pour yourself some cocoa or coffee, and take a few moments to enjoy your week in review (kind of):
  • Sad news for those of you young people who are planning on attending IHOP's OneThing conference next month: scheduled speaker Joyce Meyer has canceled her appearance. I wish I could say it was because she got saved, repented of her heresy and is now seeking to stand against the heresies of IHOP, but…well, there's no indication that that is the case.
  • Ah, the world's 'tolerance' is on display again.
  • The sad thing is, I think there may be some people out there who would use this resource if it actually existed.
  • Bill Johnson says you can heal.
  • Well this thing is creepy and ugly looking. Definitely not worthy of being this week's dose of adorable.
  • Much better. Here's your weekly dose of adorable.
  • True peace with God comes on God's terms.
  • I don't really know what to do with this.
  • How sovereign is the LORD?

  1. Re: Your snide remark about Jesus Calling/Bonfire - did you hear Jesus' voice telling you to write that? It was completely uncalled for.

    1. Anonymous,
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or if you're just new to the blog and utterly unaware of the fact that this site believes and teaches that God speaks through His Word and that false teachers and false teachings like Sarah Young and her book, Jesus Calling, are an incredible danger to the church. A bonfire is about the only thing that book is useful for.

      See here,
      and here,
      and here,
      and here,
      and here.

  2. cracking up at the christian girl instagram thing......did you catch what he said at 1:19? ....Looks like someone has been listening to our conversations. ha ;)

Please keep it pithy (in other words, if your comment is long enough to be its own blog post, don't bother), pertinent (please don't go off-topic), and respectful (to the author, to the other readers, and to the subject of the post). If you can't do that, your comment will not be posted.

If you haven't already, please read the Comment Policy in its entirety.
