Artwork Likens Obama to Jesus

Todd Starnes of Fox News offers some disturbing insight into man's ability and willingness to idolize and worship other men. He writes:
Street vendors across downtown Charlotte are selling posters and artwork depicting President Obama as Jesus Christ and the Democratic National Convention is expected to feature a stained-glass window backdrop during their meeting.

One poster features an image of the president in prayer with the headline, “Prophecy Fulfilled.”
“Barak is of Hebrew origin and its meaning is ‘flash of lightning,” the poster notes, referencing a passage in in the Old Testament book of Judges.
Hussein, they allege, is a Biblical word meaning “good and handsome.”
“So you see, Barak was destined to be a good and handsome man that would rise like a flash of lightning to win victory in a battle against overwhelming odds,” the poster read.
Starnes clearly points out that these items have not been sanctioned by the DNC. Nevertheless, it is important for American Christians to realize that this mindset exists, if even only among a minority. Likening any mere man to the Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ, is blasphemy.

It may indeed be that God is using the president to fulfill prophecy, but if so, it is not in the way that these individuals propose. One need only look at the rapid moral degeneration of America, and the role of the government in this decline, to know that Romans 1 is unfolding before our eyes. Those looking and waiting for the return of Christ need not worry, however, for there will be no doubt about His identity when He comes again. All men, believers and unbelievers alike, will see and know that He alone is Lord.
Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (Matt. 24:29–30)
Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords. (Rev. 19:11–16)

  1. Now this is downright scary.

  2. And the people kept shouting, "The voice of a god and not of a man!" Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died.

    Acts 12:22&23

    1. Darrel, I forgot about that verse and that's a great point. that's such a pernicious position to be in.

when I first read this article I could not help but think if people see a mere man like Barak Obama like Jesus, then they are so blind and duped that it will be so easy for people to receive the Antichrist.

this is so pornographic and such a raunchy crime against Christ and his true nature. It's just outright blasphemy to the nth degree

  3. No offense, but when they said that Barak means "flash of lightning", isn't Lucifer referred to as an "angel of light?" Here are words from Isaiah 14, 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit."

And in Luke 10 when the 72 disciples returned from their first missionary trip and told Jesus that even they were able to cast out demons 10:18 "And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven." So we know that Satan is not confined to just the heavenly realm, but has been cast to earth where he roams about seeking whom he may devour.

Then 2 Cor. 11:14, And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. (Antichrist can also mean "another Christ".)

Matthew 24:3-5 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many."

So, if I were these folks trying to portray Pres. Obama as some kind of savior, I would be very, very careful. Not only is it blasphemy, but it will bring heaps of God's wrath upon those who propagate this falsehood. This kind of thing, IMHO, will not bring upon God's judgment, this IS God's judgment. And on the other side, those so-called conservative, Christians in an effort to vote out the current president, are hosting dozens of prayer rallies with those of the unholy NAR, Latter Rain, Word Faith, dominionists and are no less culpable in the outpouring of God's wrath on this nation. We are smack in the middle of the worst perversion of God's Word and glory, I believe, in history.

Heavenly Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on us!
