Elephant Room 3 Is Coming

That's right, in spite of the continuing fallout from ER2, James MacDonald confirmed this morning via Twitter that there will indeed be an ER3.

Ken Silva shares additional thoughts at Apprising Ministries. He writes:
Like interlocking concentric circles we’ve seen the same names now appearing over and over again at each others’ revivals and conferences. However, the wording of James MacDonald’s tweet today would seem to indicate that ER3 isn’t likely generate anywhere near the interest of, say, Elephant Room 2.
Rather, it reads like ER3′s likely to be a snooze-fest. Unless of course they decide to invite some of the pastors who left Acts 29 and Harvest Bible Fellowship over ER2. Not likely.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

  1. Elephant Room = House Built On Sand

James MacDonald is building again with another room addition.

Will that house stand, or will it fall, according to the Lord Jesus Christ?

    Matthew 7:26- 27
“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

How many sayings in scripture have been both HEARD AND IGNORED by the leaders of ER?

    Plenty. Here are just two:

2 John 1:9-11 (for full context)
Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God…. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds. (Heresies, i.e. denying the Trinity)

1 Timothy 6:3-5 (for full context)
If anyone teaches…godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself. (false prosperity gospel)

ER2 rejected these commands from the Lord in favor of hosting T.D. Jakes and giving him a platform to deceive viewers with his heresies.

Unless there is sincere repentance over what was allowed to happen in ER2, we can expect:

Elephant Room 3 = House Built On Sand

  2. Excellent Carol..

One thing that is an enigma to me is that I used to listen to James MacDonald on my Christian radio station. He was pretty much as far as my radar could pick up preaching sound doctrine.. What I wonder is, can a person be very biblically sound and not be saved?

I do not look forwards to a 3rd elephant room.. it's an onus as it's turning into a Bête´ noire´. We who are faithful must remember that God is sovereign and this is not taking HIM by surprise... May we remain faithful to the LORD!

    1. Thanks Linda. Don't feel too bad about listening to James MacDonald and thinking his messages are scripturally sound. I attended Harvest Bible Chapel of Rolling Meadows for quite a while, and heard a large number of his messages "live". I heard many good messages, and also a few errors too.

His radio ministry is called "Walk In The Word". While he can really put on a show of talking in the Word, the problem is he doesn't seem to be too concerned with walking in it. Carol

  3. Same old tripe, different box. Which heresy will they endorse this time? How many more name-brand "preachers" will be found to be apostates? How few will wake up and flee? Would some one please show me one, just ONE of these so called leaders who has turner and repented. ONE.

  4. Interesting that Pastor James claims to be partnering with the HBF pastors for ER3. After the catapulting of Harvest Grayslake, which HBF pastor in the movement will dare say anything that doesn't line up 100% with what Pastor James wants?

He also claims that it will be less controversial. That means that he'll need to redefine the purpose of the Elephant Room for the fourth time.

Far too many things have happened since the announcement of the invitation of T.D. Jakes for ER2 for a tame and mild ER3 to erease.

    1. This is exactly right. James did what he did to Mike Bryant and Harvest of Grayslake, Ill. to send a message to the other Harvest Senior Pastors. The message? If you don't fall in line, this can happen to you. So, even the guys who have concerns will be too afraid to voice them very loudly because they know they too can be loaded onto the catapult.

It would be better to get booted as Mike Bryant did and keep your integrity than continue to support what's happening right now with HBF.

    2. It is actually better to proactively leave because of Biblically-based convictions than to get catapulted by surprise.

Pastors of HBF church plants will be in a difficult situation when ER3 rolls around. Pastor James said that he will get a consensus of HBF pastors (he probably is referring to those on the elder council, not all). That means that when Benny Hinn is a guest, those HBF pastors will have no choice but to be silent, or leave.

    3. They made their choice already. At least those who stayed. King James McCatapult has his entourage.

  6. Linda,

To answer your question, "What I wonder is, can a person be very biblically sound and not be saved?," I think we should look at Matthew 4:6 to get a precise understanding. Here we find Satan attempting to lure and devour our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by quoting Psalm 91:11-12 to Him. Satan is very biblically sound. He understands it backwards and forwards. His agents most certainly do as well. That's precisely why the deception that is creeping into our modern churches through guys like James MacDonald and his cohort of evangelical main-streamers is so very dangerous.

"For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds." - 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 NASB

    2. Thanks Jackie Karch.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Satan has knowledge- he knows the gospel. He also believes the gospel in the sense that he knows that it is true. But Satan resists Christ. He is opposed to all he represents. He despises Christ. Jesus said "He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters"-Matthew 12:30.

So, "by their fruit you will recognize them"- not only entails preaching sound doctrine but living a life/walk consistent with it. There is a real yielding of oneself to Christ which goes beyond knowledge, however full or accurate that knowledge may be, and even beyond agreeing with or being personally moved by the gospel. I've noticed that people who are born-again now pursue intensely what he or she previously despised. Before, the person saw nothing that was desirable about Jesus. Now, the person cannot imagine life without him. A person's behavior and walk reflects whether or not he/she bears the fruit of the Spirit.

"sanctified “behavior” is (the) essential companion to authentically sound doctrine."~ Phil Johnson 1 Cor.5:11

1Jo 2:6 Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

2Jo 1:6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

  7. The moniker " Elephant Room " would more appropriately be called "Peacock Room" ...where proud as peacock entertainers and showmen get to strut and perform for all who will pooh and ahhhh and remenber to always pay their freight. Sorry, ...wouldnt follow these "BIRDS of Pray" for all the silver in Judas' coat.

  8. I hope that by the time of Elephant 3 many more will know how to step past the elephant droppings and will call and ignore cheap tricks of the elephant trainer king James...

  9. I imagine ER3 will be the regulars (Driscoll, Furtick, et al) sitting around slapping each other on the back over how much their churches have grown since they started tickling ears.

  10. I love it. ER3 with less controversy, okay. Wanna know why? They'll silence their opponents as soon as the guest lineup is posted with ad hominem attacks and will build strawmen only to raze them in the bonfire of vanities. EBenz and Chris Rosebrough will be the first to be on the "DO NOT LET IN" list as well as Voddie Bocham, Mike Abendroth, Phil Johnson and oh yeah, probably John MacArthur. And I think the company of dissenters will increase. What troubles me is the people who fear leaving the Harvest Dynasty because they'll lose their jobs and support. Really? Paul the Apostle was beaten, held in chains, arrested, and oh yeah, eventually beheaded because he wouldn't captitulate to the religious and governmental authorities. If a pastor fears James MacDonald I suggest they turn in their man and Christian card.

I know we will be kept "apprised" of the events surrounding ER3, but rather than get all frothed up about James and his failure to see what he is doing, we should pray that the eyes of the blind who attend Harvest or this conference be open and someone other than the usual suspects confront this issue without fear of the catapult in the parking lot.

  11. What's the point of calling it an "Elephant" in the room conference if you aren't going to discuss controversial subjects... just sayin'... it's like calling my glass of water a 'saucy beverage'. I hadn't seen this... then again James Mac blocked me on twitter when I simply asked for clarification of his own comments...
