Separating From Unbelievers

Thanks to an anonymous reader for alerting me to this fine message.

  1. FYI. Regarding the topic of your post on Feb 6 titled "Scroll Wrapping: A New Trend for Prosperity Preachers?" there is a very short essay at CNN's Belief Blog from Rev. DeForest "Buster" Soaries, the senior pastor at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Somerset, New Jersey. He is a former Secretary of State of New Jersey. His essay is titled "My Take: Stop supporting buffoonery in the pulpit" and is from a black man's pov.

  2. Who can preach like John MacArthur? The man tells it like it is. I wonder how long I would last at my church if I spoke as directly as he does. How I wish I could attend his church or even one like his. Listening to him just makes me hunger more for the truth. He is a true man of God. I know I am just speculating but I imagine the Apostle Paul to be very much like Dr. MacArthur in temperament. Would love to have seen Dr. MacArthur at The Elephant Room. Woe to The Elephant if that should ever happen.

  3. This is an excellent message, well worth taking the time to listen to it.
I dearly wish more Christian leaders were as careful and motivated as Dr. MacArthur to not offend the LORD with worldy, idolatrous compromise. So many leaders give the impression of pushing the boundaries, experimenting, as if it is pleasing to the LORD...and instead it is offensive. Thanks for posting this message!
