Take Cover! The Code Orange Revival Begins Tonight

Tonight's the night. Steven Furtick's Code Orange Revival kicks off with speaker Craig Groeschel. Since Steven Furtick claims this event is about, "believing God for an eruption of His power and movement among us in 2012," it may be advisable to take cover, because we do not know what this eruption will look like. This video may offer a bit of a sneak peek, however:

Based on this it seems safe to assume that many of the speakers will be preaching about us and how fabulous our lives will be if we just add Jesus. This is good, because it can be awfully depressing to hear preachers talk about sin and wrath and judgment and our need for a Savior from such things. Folks would much rather hear about the Jesus who saves from life dissatisfaction and boredom.

Steven Furtick kicked off Code Orange this past Sunday with a sermon from Ezekiel 37. It is available for viewing here, but be warned: if allegorization and misapplication of the Biblical text annoys you, you should not watch this sermon. And if this sermon is any indication of what the next 12 nights will look like, then we should all be grieved.

The next 12 evenings should prove interesting. If you have the time and the interest, the Code Orange Revival will be available for live stream here.

  1. Matt Chandler is dallying with these folks? God help us. May he repent~!

  2. "Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character.-"1Cr 15:33

"He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm"-Proverbs 13:20

  3. I am saddened that Matt Chandler is at this "revival", but it may be the only opportunity these people get to hear the true gospel.....

  4. Hi Dave,

Many were disappointed to see Chandler's name on this list. However, I did listen to his message tonight and was pleased to hear him preach some truth. The Law and the Gospel were proclaimed, and for that I am thankful. I only wish that he were the last speaker of the 12 nights. Perhaps his message could have served as a means of "damage control." As it is, biblical truth will very likely be discarded again on Day 4 as Christine Caine takes the stage...

  5. I listened to a bit of what Matt preached and then had to leave. I didn't get to hear a bunch. I came back later to hear Furtick talking about honor so I listened for a bit and watched some of the tweets people were sending in. He was, as usual, completely man centered. The tweets were flowing fast and furious in praise of what was being said, but at the same time, they were praising what Chandler had preached, as well. Amazing........these kids listen to and like Furtick yet, at the same time, praise Chandler. Confused they are...........
