This 'n' That

Since neither are posted on a consistent basis, I've decided to combine Video Friday with This 'n' That, so some of the below links will be to videos that are, in my opinion, well worth your time. I pray everyone has had a fruitful week, and it is my hope to be back to posting some original articles in the coming days and weeks. For now, here's your week in review (kind of):

It's June, which means it's also the month that America celebrates debauchery and immorality, aka "LGBT Month." Retailer Old Navy has decided to sell T-shirts that honor this wickedness. I think I'll save my money for something that doesn't glorify sin.

Warren C. Smith has written a wonderful article (and taken some flak for it) entitled "A Vote for Romney is a Vote for the LDS Church." Planning on voting for the "lesser of the evils?" Don't compromise your Christian faith in the name of politics. Mormonism is not Christianity.

Speaking of Mormonism, Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry (CARM) has some great resources that further explain the nuances of this cult. For a complete list of their articles on the topic, click here. This article, entitled "What Does Mormonism Teach" is particularly helpful if you're listening to a Mormon talk and thinking, "Well, hey, they sound pretty Christian. They're talking about Jesus after all!" Um...it's not the same Jesus. The Jesus of Mormonism is a "spirit brother" of Satan, and was conceived between God and Mary.

Here's a sermon jam about the "Problem of Good Deeds" from Michael Durham. He may be lesser known than some, but wow, can he preach!

Last Friday, Chris Rosebrough of Fighting for the Faith and Phil Johnson of Pyromaniacs got together on Chris' radio show to discuss the John Piper/Rick Warren interview. You can listen to Part 1 of their discussion here (settle in with a cup of coffee first!). Part 2 has yet to take place.

Pastor R.W. Glenn has written a brief, but wonderful, blog post about the amazing place of "because" in the gospel of grace. Check out his article, From "In order to" to "Because."

Finally, if you have an hour of time, please watch this video (also posted below) of John MacArthur's recently preached sermon God Visits Calvary. You will be blessed.
