As I watched the video below in my office this afternoon, tears came to my eyes. A couple weekends ago, shoppers at Macy's in Philadelphia were treated to a "Random Act of Culture" as the Opera Company of Philadelphia broke into an amazing perfomance of Handel's Hallelujah Chorus. Over 600 choristers were mingling with the shoppers when they began to sing. (Just an observation: you'll notice that the woman wearing the headband with the "devil's horns" continued to work on the makeover she was giving after she got over the initial shock of the name of Messiah being proclaimed.) Chances are that such a performance will warrant arrest next year, so I hope those present enjoyed!

I, too, LOVE this video on the Hallelujah Chorus. I've received it 4 times, and each time I watch it, I smile and get teary-eyed at the same time. I heard on Fox News just today (11-10-10) that Macy's plans to do this several more times at other malls during the next few years! Hope I'm there when it happens!! Thanks for forwarding! jeannie from Carmel, IN.

  2. Praise Yeshua, our salvation!! There is nothing like singing Yahweh's Holy Word in song. I have the Handel's Messiah in my card CD player and when the Hallelujah Chorus comes on the volume goes up and the windows go down. I thoroughly enjoy worshiping the Holy One of Israel in song. Hallelujah! I believe we will be singing Handel's Hallelujah Chorus at Jesus's feet and maybe Handel will be directing the Holy Choir.
