True or False?

I'm going to open this up for discussion. Is the following quote true, false, or somewhere in the middle?
"God's message [in the Bible] is that He has a plan and purpose for each individual."
Looking forward to your comments and discussion.

  1. I'd say there is nothing in Scripture to support this. If it was so, then everyone would be a pre-programmed robot. I think more likely that God's main plan is to let us do what we choose, and if he has a special use for us, then he will guide us to that place. But if you say he has a specific plan for everyone, can you imagine how you have to answer those in Darfur or the Sudan?

Please keep it pithy (in other words, if your comment is long enough to be its own blog post, don't bother), pertinent (please don't go off-topic), and respectful (to the author, to the other readers, and to the subject of the post). If you can't do that, your comment will not be posted.

If you haven't already, please read the Comment Policy in its entirety.
