Top Ten Thanks

Well, today's the day! Happy Thanksgiving! As expected God revealed many seemingly "small" things to me for which I can be exceedingly grateful! I hope you took the time to seriously review your blessings over the past week as well. At the very least, do not neglect to thank Him today not just for your family and your health and your meal, but for Himself and for His sacrifice and for the undeserved gift of grace and salvation to you and to me, who are nothing more than wretched sinners. But don't let the sun rise tomorrow and you re-adopt a blasé attitude toward the God of this universe and your Savior. Thank Him always and for all.

Rejoice always;
pray without ceasing;
in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Today's Top Ten Thanks
  1. I am thankful for a splintered, blood-splattered cross.
  2. I am thankful for the mercy and love of Christ which was never displayed more abundantly than when the nails pierced His hands and feet.
  3. I am thankful for the perfect, blameless, yet substitutionary sacrifice of my Lord so that I, a wretched, pitiful, sinful, hopeless woman, can rest peacefully in grace and salvation.
  4. I am thankful for the Holy Spirit who convicts me of sin, urges me to repentance, and daily nourishes my faith and strengthens my walk with God.
  5. I am thankful for the assurance that He foreknew me and that I can never be cast out.
  6. I am thankful for a "misplaced" stone and an empty tomb for Jesus Christ has defeated death that we might never taste its bitterness!
  7. I am thankful for the unfathomable promise of eternity with God!
  8. I am thankful for God's Word and that it contains all that we need to know and understand! Sola Scriptura!
  9. I am thankful that I am a slave (doulos) of Jesus Christ for if I were to own my life I would surely lose it! I only pray that I bring my Master glory!
  10. I am thankful for the final promise of Christ, "Surely I am coming soon."
